As the International Schools Alumni League (ISAL) gears up for a highly anticipated Season 2, the league is proud to unveil its latest addition to the growing alumni football community: the Word of Life International School (WOLIS) Saints. The entry of the WOLIS Saints marks a new chapter of growth and diversity for the league, reinforcing its mission of uniting former international school students through the spirit of competition, camaraderie, and community.
The inclusion of WOLIS Saints is part of an exciting expansion phase that follows a groundbreaking inaugural season. ISAL1 saw fierce competition, electric fan engagement, and a reinvigorated passion for alumni athletics. Now, as the league prepares to tip off its second season, the arrival of the Saints brings fresh enthusiasm and a new fan base to the already vibrant mix of teams.
A Legacy of Excellence Meets the Spirit of Competition
Founded on strong Christian values and academic excellence, Word of Life International School has cultivated a legacy of integrity, leadership, and holistic growth. Its alumni are known not only for their achievements in the classroom but also for their impact in various professional and creative fields across Uganda and beyond. The formation of the WOLIS Saints as an alumni football team is a natural extension of the school’s emphasis on character, discipline, and unity.
Representing the WOLIS Saints is Masiko Niwagaba, a proud alumnus and passionate advocate for the school’s growing alumni network. Niwagaba has played a pivotal role in rallying former classmates and athletes to step back onto the grass, not just for the thrill of the game, but for the shared memories and renewed connections.
“It’s an incredible feeling to be part of something that celebrates where we come from while giving us a platform to compete again,” said Niwagaba. “Joining the I.S.A League is more than just football. It’s about community. It’s about legacy. And we’re excited to bring the WOLIS spirit to the league.”
Growing the ISA League: More Than Just a Game
The I.S.A League was launched to serve as a premium alumni football competition in Uganda, offering a high-level, organized league format for international school graduates. With a focus on inclusivity, professionalism, and entertainment, the league quickly carved out a unique space in the local sports ecosystem.
ISAL2 promises to build on the momentum of the inaugural year, with bigger crowds, bolder partnerships, and a deeper bench of talent. The introduction of new teams like the WOLIS Saints is a testament to the league’s magnetic appeal and growing influence.
“The inclusion of the WOLIS Saints reflects the heartbeat of what ISAL is about — reconnection, excellence, and growth,” said Arthur Jagwer, Director of Football for the I.S.A League. “We’re thrilled to welcome them into our family and can’t wait to see what kind of energy they bring to ISAL2.”
Eyes on Legends Grounds – ISAL2 Is Coming
With opening day set for June 28th, 2025, at Legends Sports Grounds, fans can expect a thrilling launch weekend featuring marquee matchups, guest appearances, and live coverage powered by NRG Radio UG, the league’s official media partner for ISAL2.
As the WOLIS Saints finalize their roster and begin preparations, anticipation is already building online among former students and fans alike. Brimming with potential, the Saints aim to be more than just newcomers — they’re here to make a statement.
“Our goal isn’t just to show up. We want to compete, represent WOLIS with pride, and remind everyone that Saints play with heart,” Niwagaba added.
